The Ohio Wines Founders Scholarship honors those pioneers who launched a new organization in 1975 to represent the interests of Ohio vintners, growers and researchers. With an initial annual budget of $750 and just thirteen wineries from all across the state, their vision has grown to hundreds of wineries and into one of the most respected wine organizations in the nation. To honor them, OWPA will be awarding scholarships to students at an Ohio institution of higher learning looking to grow the industry into the future. Our founders included: Dr. James Gallander, Dr. Garth Cahoon, Tony Debevc, Arnulf Esterer, Robert Gottesman, Louis Heineman and Kenneth Schuchter
