Nicholas Ferrante
Nicholas Ferrante grew up in a large, hard-working, and talented Italian family whose winemaking history dates to the post Prohibition days in Cleveland's Collinwood area. With the establishment of the current winery in Geneva, the world-class facility has allowed him to craft his winemaking skills to the highest level.
He is regarded by all as one of the nation's most respected winemakers. His wines have been awarded 'Sweepstakes,' 'Best of Show,' and 'Double Gold,' recognition from coast to coast. He has been invited to share his wisdom at nearly every major industry conference in the country.
His peers not only respect his talent but also appreciate his commitment to the industry at large. He has been a supporter and collaborator of research and innovation, be it through our universities or in his support or the Grand River Valley initiative or the creation of Pairings Wine and Culinary Experience.
He has generously given of his time, serving on the OGIC and their Research subcommittees. His strong faith and commitment to his immediate as well as extended family are evident to all who know him. The Ohio Wine Producers and the entire industry is proud to have him inducted into the Ohio Wine Hall of Fame.
